I count on my sister to understand the reference in this title!
Well, as a good news never comes alone, I too find a job in an architectural office this week. We knew that if we had a good connection, things could go pretty fast ... we did not think so!
So I through a friend met in escalating, passed my portfolio. After two days I had a meeting (Tuesday) and Wednesday I got a call asking me to start Friday. This week was definitely the week pivotal change our pace of Canadian life. (Not Anthony, the rabbit year has nothing to do!)
I'll let the hammer and 2x4 (see previous post) because I am officially hired Stantec Architecture is located in a huge box can almost everywhere in North America, which include many airports ... to be honest, I do not think one day he wins the Pritzker Prize for the quality of their architectural achievements but the idea of work on large projects is quite challenging and there is good to take anywhere !
for the atmosphere it's great, super nice fellow, office the top floor of an office tower, real espresso machine in the break room and saw the mountains from my post. It's gonna be a real experience of Canadian office job! It's great.
My only regret is that I have not had time to post all that I wanted to do on how we build houses here before leaving my job ... The carpenter Time goes pretty darn fast in fact! I keep it in a corner of my head!
At Stantec, I start Monday to work on the renovation of the Toronto airport and the creation of a new terminal for the airport in Tijuana. For the latter, the project concept is quite poetic as it is to create a bridge over the US-Mexico border to go directly from the U.S. record on the ground terminals on Mexican soil. A bit like the airport Basel Mulhouse ... except that this border is more like that of Israel-Palestine ... This could be called a bridge over the "no mans land" ... remaining a bit naive still
Hugs to all
